A ‘Future Day’ for Holstein eventing horses with legendary trainer Hans Melzer – on 10 October, you are warmly invited to come and see nearly 30 up-and-coming eventing stars in Elmshorn. The Future Day begins at 2 pm and will take place at the Fritz-Thiedemann-Halle.
The training session will focus both on developing the young horses and on marketing them – many of the 27 entries are for sale. The commentary on the horses by Hans Melzer, former national eventing coach, is also set to be highly interesting. First, the three-year-olds will be presented in free jumping in the historic riding hall, followed by a display of the basic gaits in the Fritz-Thiedemann-Halle; afterwards, the four-year-olds and older horses will demonstrate their skills on the show jumping course and over mobile cross-country obstacles.
The event also serves as a venue for exchange, networking and private sales, whilst simultaneously acting as a scouting opportunity for the Holsteiner Elite Riding Horse Auction. As part of the Holsteiner Verband’s Eventing Working Group, the idea was conceived – in collaboration with both full-time and voluntary staff – to launch a ‘Future Day’ for Holsteiner eventing horses – or those with the potential to become such. The Holsteiner Verband subsidises this initiative, which is free of charge for participants; it is also supported by the CBV – Club der Besitzer von Vielseitigkeitspferden e.V. – and the ZSF – Holsteiner Zucht- und Sportförderung e.V.
