The first state champions were crowned at the 2022 Holsteiner Horse Days in Elmshorn: United b by Uriko, ridden by Birgit Gärtner-Döller, and Caillan by Casall, ridden by Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, were crowned champions in the four- and seven-year-old show jumping horse categories. Be Aperle VA by Clarimo, ridden by Diarmuid Howley, won the Grand Tour at S** level with a jump-off.
Four-year-old show jumpers
With an outstanding score of 9.2, the Uriko-Newton daughter United b (Wolfgang Heller, Hennef), line 2657, won the State Championship – the b-horses Prize – for four-year-old show jumpers. In the saddle was Birgit Gärtner-Döller, who had already achieved a score of 8.3 with the mare in the preliminary test. Second place went to the licensed Stakkadetto by Stakkato Gold-Acodetto I from the Maas J. Hell stud (Kersten Lutzke, Pronstorf), line 844, ridden by Claudia Wähling, with a score of 9.0. Third place went to Doolittle RL by Diarado-Carthago (Rasmus Lüneburg, Hetlingen), line 8763, and Rasmus Lüneburg with a score of 8.6.
Seven-year-old show jumpers
Having already finished second in last year’s State Championships for six-year-old show jumpers with Antonia Brinkop,
he now claimed the title in the seven-year-old class under his new rider Rolf-Göran Bengtsson: Caillan by Casall-Carry (Gerd Ohlsen, Föhr), line 18A2, was unbeatable in the S* show jumping class with jump-off – the Maas J. Hell Stud Prize. The silver medal went to Historia R by Crunch-Calato (ZG Redderberg, Ahrensbök), line 1907, and Antonia-Selina Brinkop. The bronze medal was secured by Ciselle by Cascadello I-Quidam de Revel (Reimer Detlef Hennings, Bendorf), line 7673, and Linn Hamann.
TheurerTrucks STX Horsetrucks Germany Prize for Be Aperle VA
Top-class sport in the supporting programme – this is how the Holsteiner Horse Days score highly beyond the State Championships. In the S** show jumping with jump-off – the TheurerTrucks STX Horsetrucks Germany Prize – a number of highly intriguing combinations had entered the starting list. Diarmuid Howley, riding for Manfred von Allwörden’s Grönwohldhof Stables, emerged as the winner of the class. He had saddled Be Aperle VA (Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld), a daughter of Clarimo-Concerto II, line 238, and flew through the jump-off course at lightning speed. He crossed the finish line almost two seconds ahead of the runner-up, Teike Carstensen. She rode Greece by Mylord Carthago-Quinar (Margit Petersen, Sollwittfeld), line 3401. The grey mare and her rider had returned home from the National Championships in Warendorf in 2021 with a silver medal. Third place went to Thore Stieper and Catch me by Castelan-Capitol I. Stieper’s grandfather, Reimer Hedt from Großenaspe, is the breeder of this mare from line 4294.
In the free jumping championship for three-year-old Holstein mares – with honorary prizes sponsored by DERBY and the R+V General Agency Kuschel – My Dream by Del’ Arko d’Henvet-Carnute, bred by Bernhard Hobe (Kollmar), line 18A2, was awarded the winner’s sash. She received a score of 9.2 for her performance.
On Sunday, the Holsteiner Horse Days will culminate in the Breed Association Mare Show from 9.00 am; in the afternoon, the winners of the State Championships for five- and six-year-old show jumpers will be decided at 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm respectively. Spectators are very welcome; the entire event will be broadcast live via ClipMyHorse.tv.
