The first Holsteiner champions have been crowned: Cabernet and Elfensymphonie ...

On the Friday of the event, the first Holstein State Champions of 2025 were crowned at the Herbert-Blöcker-Platz in Elmshorn. Cabernet by Cascadello I-Cormint (photo in the text), bred by Hans-Joachim Gerken, was awarded the traditional oak wreath in the five-year-old dressage horse class. Ridden by Roland Metzler, the former Holsteiner auction horse won the Guts Schönweide Prize with an overall score of 7.6. The new champion particularly impressed in the sub-scores for responsiveness and canter.
In the six-year-old dressage horse category, last year’s winner, Elfensymphonie YD by Vitalis-Fürstenball (cover photo), bred by Caroline von Zele, successfully defended her title. The dark chestnut mare had already won the championship last year with Markus von Holdt. The Oldenburg mare triumphed in the Class M dressage test, the Andreas Bothe Prize from Hamburg, with an overall score of 8.26. Her trot and suppleness received the highest marks of 8.5.
