At the German Foal Championship in Lienen, a daughter of Dinken out of a Nekton dam won the jumping-type filly foals classification. She was bred by Georg Hummelsheim (Leverkusen) and represents stem 275.
With impressive marks, including a 10 for type and 9.5 each for movement and conformation, the foal named Riri was singled out as the winner. The filly foal had qualified in Hünxe, where she also caused a stir with her performance. Georg Hummelsheim had once purchased her dam Diara by Nekton-Claudio from Timm Peters in Bargenstedt: At the time, he already owned a mare by Nekton-Corofino I whose breeding quality had convinced him – she produced, among others, Mr. Ed by Dinken (Taizo Sugitani/JPN), who is successful in the international youngster tour. Because he liked the mating to Dinken so much, he also chose the association stallion for Diara. The right choice, as he now noted once again through the filly foal's victory in Lienen. "Dinken produces rideable horses with a very good attitude," he is convinced. A colt foal from his breeding by Dinken-Casaltino additionally placed tenth at the championship. He stems from the 2019 Holsteiner reserve state champion, Indiana (Wendy Davis Gerrish, USA), stem 1916.
About the German Foal Championship
In 2023, the German Foal Championship was held for the 20th time. The concept is based on qualifiers held across Germany. Breeders of show jumpers, dressage horses, and riding ponies from all breeding districts and federal states are thus given the opportunity to participate in one or more qualifiers in their breeding district to qualify for the final in Lienen.
