The Executive Board announces: District Assembly meetings, Advisory Board, HLP

As part of this series, information from the board work of the Holsteiner Verband is published at regular intervals. We would like to inform you, dear members, about the results and decisions of the board.

Item I
Advisory Board: First exchange with the board

The board has exchanged views with the advisory board elected in December for the first time, and Heiner Rickers was elected chairman of the advisory board. Goals were defined and further meetings to work towards these goals were agreed upon.

Item II
Power consumption of the association facility

An investment in photovoltaics with self-consumption in combination with feeding into the grid can be sensible. This is currently being examined.

Item III
District meetings

The dates for the meetings in the breeding districts, which have been postponed to March, have been fixed. This year, the elections of the district boards and the delegates are on the agenda. In addition, the meetings must produce the proposals for the board elections coming up in June. These proposals must also be voted on.

Item IV
Status of medication case

The Holsteiner statutes must be adapted. Currently, they do not provide for the suspension of positively tested stallions, merely the revocation of the licensing verdict. Other breeding associations are pursuing the same endeavour. The chairmen of these associations have drawn up a letter of intent for this purpose. The board of the Holsteiner Verband is joining this initiative. Regardless of this, a statute amendment in this direction is to be completed for Holstein by the next main licensing.

Item V
Stallion performance test

Testing of the three-year-old stallions at the end of April: there will be a score and a linear description. South German associations and Trakehners have decided that the stallions can also cover without a test and this year's foals can be registered. The Holsteiner Verband supports the idea, but does not want to bypass the ZVO (Central Association of German Horse Breeders).

Item VI
Stallion population

There have been various purchase enquiries regarding Million Dollar. A sale of the stallion is currently ruled out, but a transfer of sport rights may be conceivable.
