During the delegates' assembly of the Holsteiner Verband, two executive board positions were newly filled. Olaf Rörden is the new First Chairman of the Association of Breeders of the Holsteiner Horse. In addition, Dr. Maximilian Slawinski was recalled as Deputy Chairman by the delegates' assembly. The assembly subsequently elected Hanno Köhncke as the new Deputy Chairman.
The new First Chairman of the Holsteiner Verband is Olaf Rörden. The 57-year-old farmer runs a farm comprising milk production, tourism, alternative energies, and horse breeding in Witsum on the island of Föhr. He has been breeding Holsteiner horses for over 30 years and considers it a primary task for the board to adapt to the constant changes and challenges of the times using the existing conditions of the breeding association. In accordance with the statutes, Olaf Rörden was elected for the remaining term of office of the resigned First Chairman Ulrich Steuber, i.e., until the delegates' assembly in June 2025.
Hanno Köhncke is 59 years old, holds a degree in agricultural engineering, is a farmer, and comes from a Holsteiner breeder family. He lives in Badendorf and has been chairman of the Stormarn-Lauenburg district association for 15 years. Beyond this position, he has also contributed his expertise for many years as a member of the Holsteiner mare and foal commission. Hanno Köhncke has made the strengthening and modernization of the association's stallion holding as a unique selling point a key objective of his board work. Attractive marketing is also an important building block for the association. In accordance with the statutes, Hanno Köhncke was elected for the remaining term of office of the previously recalled Deputy Chairman, i.e., until the delegates' assembly in mid-2026.
Elections of the advisory board were also on the agenda: Four of the previous five advisory board members stood for re-election and were unanimously elected by the delegates' assembly. Dr. Bernd Bösche, Dr. Sascha Brückner, Heiner Rickers, and Andreas Petzold make up the advisory board.
The executive board of the Association of Breeders of the Holsteiner Horse thanks Dr. Maximilian Slawinski for his honorary commitment. He had been Deputy Chairman of the association since 2021.
