Calido I is no longer with us

Calido I by Cantus-Coriander-Roman has passed away at the age of 32. The stallion was bred by Matthias Kahler (Neuendeich) and spent many years at the Maas J. Hell stallion station, of which the grey from line 5064 became a figurehead.

Station owner Herbert Ulonska and his daughter Jasmin Ulonska-Weiss have now bid farewell to Calido I, who always enriched the stallion presentations in a present and vital manner even at a high age. Maas Johannes Hell had discovered the stallion back then and acquired him for the station in Klein Offenseth. Calido I was counted as the most popular son of Cantus, who caused a sensation in young show jumper classes in his early years.

He can boast 115 licensed sons worldwide, 26 of them in Holstein – these include, for example, Cero I or Cormint. 20 of his daughters have been awarded the State Premium by the Holsteiner Verband. 105 of his progeny are internationally successful above 1.60 metres, with well-known Holsteiner examples including Carlucci (European Children Show Jumping Champion with Brianne Beerbaum in 2023) or California (2008 Olympic participant with Taizo Sugitani/JPN). Also very much the talk of the town back then was the licensed Coupe de Coeur, who jumped to the German championship title twice with René Tebbel and was once part of the victorious German team in the Nations Cup of Barcelona.
