After eleven years, the German Federal Vierkampf is once again being held in Schleswig-Holstein – the Holsteiner Verband is providing its facility in Elmshorn for the event from 14 to 16 April. "We are delighted that a youth sports event of this magnitude, with the participation of eleven federal states, is taking place at the Holsteiner Verband," says Felix Flinzer, managing director of the Vermarktungs und Auktions GmbH.
Dressage, show jumping, swimming and running – good riding alone is not enough for the Vierkampf; participants must also be fit. Matthias Karstens, managing director of the Schleswig-Holstein Equestrian Federation (PSH), explains: "This year, the federal comparison competition is being held as a German Championship for the first time." He and his team are this year's organisers and are pleased about the upgrading of the Vierkampf. The competition comprising dressage, show jumping, running and swimming is one of the oldest federal events in youth sports. Since 2010, a federal youth Vierkampf has also been held in parallel with the federal Vierkampf.
