What a day for the Holsteiner eventing horses! Following today’s cross-country stage at the European Championships in Avenches, Switzerland, four horses with Holsteiner pedigrees are ranked among the top ten. The German team is in second place.
Leading the European Championships is JL Dublin by Diarado-Canto (Volker Götsche-Götze, Groß Buchwald). The ten-year-old gelding, who was once sold at the Elite Auction in Neumünster, had already laid the foundations with the third-best dressage score (20.9). Riden by his British rider Nicola Wilson, JL Dublin also leads the way alongside his team-mates ahead of the final show jumping round. In the cross-country, the Holsteiner was one of seven horses to gallop across the finish line without any penalty points.
Currently in sixth place (23.9) are fischerWild Wave (ZG Marks & Muffels, Siethwende) and Michi Jung. The pair, who are also competing for the German team, remained faultless and were thus able to move up one place. Incidentally, just like JL Dublin, the career of this Water Dance xx–Acobat II son also began in Neumünster – namely at the auction for unlicenced stallions seven years ago.
In eighth and ninth places are Carjatan S by Clearway-Galant Vert xx (Carl-Friedrich Söhrmann, Groß Buchwald) ridden by Christoph Wahler, who is competing as an individual rider (26.8), and the former Holsteiner auction horse Cartania by Cartani-Clinton (Günter Koch, Vollerwieck), ridden by the Swiss rider Felix Vogg (27.7), who also finished in the fastest time. The decisive show jumping round begins on Sunday at 11.30 am and will be broadcast live on ClipMyHorse.TV.
