The HKM National Championships will take place in Warendorf from 3 to 8 September. Over the course of five days, Germany’s best young horses will be determined across the various disciplines and age groups. Following the preliminary rounds and final qualifiers, which take place from Tuesday to Friday, the final rounds will be the highlights of the programme on Saturday and Sunday. By the end, a total of 21 new National Champions will have been crowned.
On Tuesday afternoon, the seven-year-old show jumpers kicked off the event with their first qualifier. Thirty-nine young horses competed in a show jumping class judged on faults and time over obstacles 1.40 metres high. Here, Brilliant Balou S
by Balou du Rouet–Carolus II (Davy Moreels), ridden by Greta Reinacher, secured second place with a clear and fast round. Charactervoll HV
by Comme il faut–Contendro I (Manfred von Allwörden), ridden by Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, also completed the course without any knockdowns, incurring only a time penalty. The pair finished in tenth place.
The programme continues on the show jumping arena on Wednesday at 8.30 am. The six-year-olds will then compete in an M* show jumping class.
