On 1 February 1998, Silke Lepthien took up her post at the Holsteiner Verband in Kiel. She initially worked in the breeding department; today, many Holsteiner fans know her as the face of the Holsteiner Shop – her colleagues and long-standing colleagues at the Kiel office congratulated her on her 25th anniversary with the organisation.
The Holsteiner Shop has been Silke Lepthien’s labour of love for 18 years: it all began with just a handful of items; now the shop stocks over 300 products at any one time, an online shop has been set up, and customers from all over the world place orders with Silke Lepthien. “I am very grateful to all those who have always had my back over the past 25 years and who continue to support me at events even today,” said the honouree.
Breeding manager Stephan Haarhoff thanked his colleague for her dedication: “You always put your heart and soul into your work with great creativity, and you consistently contribute your organisational skills.” The former breeding manager, Dr Thomas Nissen, and board member Jürgen Schaffner also took the opportunity to offer their congratulations. The board also awarded Silke Lepthien the bronze badge of honour.
