Another victory for Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z and his rider Daniel Deusser. It was the pair’s second Grand Prix win in Wellington this year. They rode clear once again and, with a time of 36.4 seconds, were the fastest of the eight jump-off participants in the $500,000 Grand Prix at the CSIO in Wellington, winning the $165,000 prize. They are thus continuing their winning streak, which began at the end of October with first place in the Grand Prix at St Tropez-Grimoud in France. This was followed by two victories in the World Cup show jumping event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, before the winning streak in Wellington began at the end of February. They triumphed in the Grand Prix on 7 March, and the run was capped off with an outstanding victory in the 4-star Grand Prix on Sunday 27 March. His total career prize money now stands at €1,717,102. In terms of prize money, he is thus the most successful horse of the 2021 competition season to date (from 1 October 2020 to 30 September 2021). The 13-year-old chestnut stallion, sired by Tangelo von de Zuuthoeve out of a Mr Blue – Feinschnitt dam, was approved for breeding in Holstein in 2019 and his semen is available via the J. Tietz agency under the code TG.
