Press release by the Dirk Ahlmann stallion station

We look back on a highly successful weekend at this year's BCH.

Not only our competition stable, but also many offspring of our stallions were able to celebrate wonderful moments in Warendorf.

Thus, Thursday started immediately with a red rosette. Our Pheline and the 6-year-old Cascadello I son Cosimo 68 (bred by Peter Böge, Schönhorst, owned by Gestüt Fohlenhof) presented themselves from their best side and won the first qualifier with a dream mark of 9.2. In the 2nd qualifier, the pair was rewarded with a 9.0 and thus confidently advanced to Sunday's final. They also shone there, but a slight misunderstanding before the water jump caused Cosimo to jump a few centimetres too short and he touched the white tape. This small lapse in concentration prevented a placing.

In the 7-year-old show jumpers, Hannes and our station stallion Coquetto del Pierre (bred by Witt Pferdezucht GbR, owned by Dr. Peter Schütte) had a successful start and safely jumped to 5th place. Unfortunately, they lacked that little bit of luck in the 2nd qualifier as well as in the final, and although Coquetto jumped outstandingly, it was not enough for a placing this time.

Pheline and Hannes each also presented a horse in the 8-year-old and older former Bundeschampionate candidates. Pheline and the Cascadello I son Carlton SR (bred by Stefan Ratajczak, owned by Gestüt Fohlenhof) delivered a clear round in the first S* class and placed well. Hannes and the 8-year-old Toulon daughter Tokyo 4 (bred & owned by Jürgen Böge, Bunsoh) also jumped clear on the first day and then demonstrated their ability in the final Grand Prix of Warendorf. Only narrowly beaten by Richard Vogel and the association stallion Crack, Hannes and Tokyo took the silver medal!

We were able to celebrate the absolute highlight in the 5-year-old show jumpers. Hannes presented the Van Gogh son Vendigo (bred & owned by Rita Siebke-Baasch, Sarzbüttel). In the first qualifier, the stallion jumped to third place with an 8.5. The stallion increased his performance from test to test, placed in the top group in the 2nd qualifier, and then confidently marched into the final on Sunday. Vendigo then won this demanding class with 2 rounds unchallenged due to his exceptional qualities, scoring a 9.0 in the first round and an even better 9.2 in the second round. With a final score of 18.2, the 2023 Bundeschampion is Vendigo under Hannes Ahlmann.

Many offspring of our station stallions were also successfully involved at this year's Bundeschampionate. Our Cascadello I alone sired 13 offspring across all disciplines. Three of his sons competed in the 8-year-old show jumpers: Carlton SR (bred by S. Ratajczak), Oak Grove’s Clown (H.G. van Wijlick) and Claus Julius (bred by Inke Reimer). Three offspring also in the 6-year-old show jumpers with Cosimo 68 (P. Böge), Keks J (ZG Raufeisen and Jessen) and California 149 (Fritz Block). Successful in the 5-year-olds were Cacardo (Gordon Paulsen) and Lascadella 6 (Frank Jessen). Cascadello I offspring were also highly popular in the eventing horses. Lola 315 (Thomas Gerken) and Caracho 26 (Inken Platen-Hallermund) competed successfully in the 5-year-olds. In the 6-year-old eventing horses, our Cascadello I once again sired the Bundeschampion. Cascoblanco (Manfred Johannsen), once again fantastically presented by Pia Leuwer just like last year, repeatedly brought the title home. Cloud 66 (Frank Neumann) also competed. Our Cascadello I could even be found in the pedigree of dressage horses.

Our high-flying stallion Del Piero I once again sired the Bundeschampion in the 6-year-old show ponies. Del Toro K (Malte Kuhnert) and Antonia Ercken were the radiant winners. Furthermore, Oakland’s Piero (Angela Haeske-Maaß) and Kaya Ehning lined up in 4th place in the final result, and Del Janna (Jasmin Brockmann) under Johanna Lüffe-Baak in 8th place. In addition, Nevtana G (Frank Georgi) and Franziska Pahlke placed 5th in the final of the 5-year-old ponies. A total of 11 offspring by Del Piero I competed and achieved many good placings in the respective classes.
