Press release by the Dirk Ahlmann stallion station
The WBFSH in Lanaken is an absolute highlight every year. The best young horses from all over the world compete at this spectacular event. Thus, our station stallion Madness (owned by Lillyhof Wacken) with his rider Hannes also competed this year in the 6-year-old show jumpers.
In the first qualifying class, which was already very demanding, the Kannan x Emerald son jumped an amazingly confident and exceptionally scopey clear round. Only about 25% out of a starting field of 260 horses managed to stay clear. Among them was our Madness.
The second qualifying class proved even more challenging, but here too our Madness demonstrated his exceptional quality, jumped an outstanding clear round and once again placed well enough to safely advance to Sunday's final.
On the final day, the requirements were set even higher. In a truly top-class 1.40m show jumping competition, the best 40 pairs from the two qualifying rounds competed against each other. Madness and Hannes mastered the course with a confident clear round and advanced to the jump-off. With a small fault at the end, Madness placed a fantastic 9th.
我们 are incredibly proud of the performance of Madness and Hannes, and this event has once again shown us what an exceptional horse Madness is and that he has a great future ahead of him.
