Klein-Offenseth – Stallions in all their glory: in hand, under saddle, over jumps and outdoors as part of a road test – this is how the Maas J. Hell Stallion Station presented its 2022 sire collection. Guests had travelled from all over Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony and even Baden-Württemberg, as, as always, it was possible to visit the stables, have a natter and gain a detailed impression of the stallions that call Klein Offenseth home and are being carefully trained there. Representatives from the Holsteiner Verband in Elmshorn, including Managing Director Roland Metz, Second Chairman Dr Maximilian Slawinski and Sebastian Rohde (Managing Director of Stallion Management), had travelled to Klein Offenseth.
Top prize-winner also impresses under saddle
The greatest curiosity centred on the ‘youngest’ at the station, the now three-year-old Chavaros II by Charleston-Con Air. The first reserve champion of the 2021 Holsteiner licensing has begun his training under saddle. Claudia Wähling presented the young stallion and raved about his attitude, his eagerness to work and his quality. Chavaros II possesses very good basic gaits and embodies exactly what “a true Holsteiner should be”, as one visitor put it with undisguised respect.
Overall impression
: Quiwi Capitol by Quiwi Dream, Casselot by Cassoulet, Colcannon by Cornet Obolensky – the three of them particularly striking in their dark ‘coats’ – Central Park by Casall and Stakkadetto by Stakkato Gold made a strong impression both over the jumps and on the ‘catwalk’, that is, on the tarmac. The idea of presenting the stallions in as varied a manner as possible went down well with the breeders, as it allows for a more comprehensive impression of each stallion.
All the stallions were shown, including the tried-and-tested sires such as the incomparable Calido I by Cantus, Acodetto! by Acorado, Canstakko – son of Canturo, who passed away just a few weeks ago – Lentini by Lavaletto, Fantasio by Van Holland, who has achieved high placings in advanced classes, as well as the stallions based in Klein Offenseth: For Ever Jump by For Pleasure and C-Dante de Joter by Clinton, whom Dr Jorge Johannpeter entrusted to the Maas J. Hell stud.
Plenty to talk about, which kept many visitors lingering for a long time in the sun-drenched courtyard and in the riding hall’s casino. Plans are now underway in Klein Offenseth for the first dressage competition on 7 and 8 May. The stud farm is delighted to host this event as well. In terms of breeding, the Maas J.
