Uwe Benzin was an integral part of the Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH team for around 30 years. Now he has decided to pursue a professional change outside of the equine industry.

It was Norbert Boley, the former managing director of Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH, who once brought Uwe Benzin to Elmshorn. While riding the young stallions – under the direction of Herbert Blöcker – was initially his primary focus, Uwe Benzin's duties increasingly shifted towards training the youngest stallions in-hand, on the lunge line and, of course, in free jumping. "Uwe Benzin always had good ideas regarding breeding and was always somewhat like a foreign minister for me in his home region towards the new federal states," Norbert Boley recalls of their decades-long collaboration. "He is passionate about horses through and through, outgoing and knowledgeable. Furthermore, many breeders and riders know him – that was always of inestimable value to me," Boley continues.

Over the past few years, there was practically no event where he was not seen with a (young) stallion in-hand. His vast experience in handling and training the youngest sires was of great value to the entire team. "We very much regret losing Uwe as a colleague. For years, he was a significant part of the stallion yard. We wish him all the best for his personal and professional future," emphasises Felix Flinzer, managing director of Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH.
