As part of a pilot scheme aimed at shortening the performance test for stallions, three young sires from the Elmshorn stud took part in a short test on 8 and 9 April. The stallions in question were Nohoval, Update and Vigado.
Vigado by Vigo d’Arsouilles completed his aptitude test with a weighted final mark of 8.66, with a particular emphasis on jumping. The 2020 Champion Stallion stood out particularly in jumping (9.2) and in terms of willingness to perform (9.3). He also received marks well within the ‘good’ range for his rideability (8.8) and canter (8.2). The four-year-old thus underlined his very good result from the sport test held three weeks ago at the same venue.
The two three-year-old stallions who travelled to Verden to face the judges’ scrutinising eyes at the Niedersachsenhalle also impressed with good results. Nohoval by Nixon scored particularly highly in jumping (8.8) and for his willingness to perform (8.5), and was awarded an overall mark of 8.20. Update, by United Way, received an 8.8 for his canter and finished his test with a final mark of 8.18, with a particular emphasis on jumping. The stallions have thus completed an important part of their stallion performance test, as the results of this test are equivalent to the 14-day aptitude test during the pilot phase. Nohoval and Update are now available for breeding. “We were delighted to take the opportunity to participate in this pilot project with our stallions. I am pleased with the above-average results and look forward to being able to offer our breeders the stallions’ semen with immediate effect. The first orders have already been received,” said Managing Director Sebastian Rohde, expressing his satisfaction.
