The partnership between Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH and Stall Bengtsson has come to an end. The stallions Charaktervoll HV by Comme il faut and Keaton HV by Kannan have returned to Elmshorn and are still available for fresh semen.
“Rolf-Göran Bengtsson has achieved incredible things with the Holsteiner Verband stallions over the past few years,” says Managing Director Felix Flinzer. “I would like to thank him personally for this, as he has not only carried out outstanding training work with our stallions, but has also, through his successes, rendered outstanding service to the Holsteiner breed and, consequently, to Holsteiner breeding.”
The Board and management would have been delighted to continue their collaboration with Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and have made a corresponding offer. The Bengtsson Stables have now decided to end the partnership. Both the Board and management wish the exceptional Swedish rider all the best for the future.
Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and the Holsteiner Association’s stallions
For many years, Rolf-Göran Bengtsson enjoyed success in the saddle of various Holsteiner Association stallions at show jumping venues around the world. His name is, of course, inextricably linked with that of Casall by Caretino: he rode the stallion to the title of State Champion, third place at the Bundeschampionat and – once he had made his mark on the international stage – to ten victories in show jumping on the Global Champions Tour. On one occasion, the pair even celebrated overall victory in the Tour; they also won team bronze at the European Championships in Herning and secured fourth place in the individual competition at the World Championships in Caen. In 2017, Bengtsson sent the top-form Casall into retirement with a victory in the GCT leg in Hamburg. But the Swede also enjoyed remarkable success with other stud association stallions: riding Quintero by Quantum, he finished second in the Donaueschingen Grand Prix, third in Geneva and Gothenburg, and won the Nations Cup Final in Barcelona with the Swedish team. The pair also celebrated a sixth place in the World Cup Final, victory in the Mercedes Masters in Zurich and victory in the Grand Prix of Falsterbo, as well as a hat-trick of wins in the Gucci Challenge in Paris. Another of Bengtsson’s successful stallions was Clarimo by Clearway, with whom he achieved top placings in the Grand Prix events at Verona and Doha, and went on to win the Grand Prix of Falsterbo and the Nations Cup Final in Rotterdam. And more recently, it was Zuccero HV by Zirocco Blue with whom Bengtsson capped off his career: Victories in the Grand Prix events at Uggerhalne, Neumünster and Doha, as well as team gold at the European Championships in Milan, were among the highlights of their time together.
