They’ve done it again! The association-owned stallion Zuccero by Zirocco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), line 4539, and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson put in an impressive performance to claim victory in the 1.55-metre Grand Prix in Aalborg/Uggerhalne, Denmark.
Earlier this year, the pair had already firmly confirmed their top form with victory in the Grand Prix at Neumünster and continued to make a name for themselves with top placings in Gothenburg (SWE), Hagen and Hamburg. “Watching this pair is simply a joy every single time,” says Managing Director Sebastian Rohde. Rider Rolf-Göran Bengtsson was equally delighted even before the start in Denmark: “Zuccero always wants to go to the other side of the jump and leave the bars down; he gives me a good feeling,” he said.
“The winning horse wasn’t just the one with the best result of the day. It was also the one that made the course look the easiest,” headlines Svenska Ridsport Förbundet. “He’s powerful, he’s impressive and he’s a perfect match for his rider, who has so often ridden world-class horses in the past,” the article continues. The experienced championship rider himself is also optimistic about the future: “So far, he has tackled every task with ease. Today’s performance was a positive sign – now that we’re going to increase the level of difficulty slightly,” says Rolf-Göran Bengtsson.
