Two weeks after the start of the Nations Cup series organised by the European Equestrian Federation (EEF) at the Maimarkt Competition in Mannheim, the German show jumpers once again took part in the international team competition, this time in Bratislava. And they were successful, as the team comprising Sophie Hinners, Cedric Wolf, Sven Schlüsselburg and Kendra Claricia Brinkop secured victory against Ireland in the jump-off.
Following the opening event at the CSIO in Mannheim, where the German team had finished second behind Switzerland in the jump-off, they have now secured victory. And once again
, it was 24-year-old Sophie Hinners
who, riding the Holsteiner Association stallion Million Dollar
by Plot Blue, had to decide the outcome in the jump-off against the Irish. “Million Dollar jumped incredibly well again today and fought right to the end. There was another jump-off, so it remained exciting right to the end. But as the first rider had a refusal, Million and I were able to ride a calm round in the jump-off and bring home the victory. Now he’ll have a well-deserved break for the time being,” reports Sophie Hinners. Marcus Döring, who has been the German assistant national coach since the start of the year, was naturally also very pleased with his team’s performance. “Great fighting spirit, great team performance,” Döring summed up afterwards.
The next competition for Sophie Hinners and Million Dollar is scheduled to take place in Balve at the German Championships from 9 to 12 June.
