The thoroughbred stallion Innenminister xx by Masterstroke xx–Lando xx (breeder: Gestüt Hof Warendorf), based in Elmshorn, has been approved for breeding by the Trakehner Association’s commission.
Innenminister xx comes from a line with a proven track record in equestrian sport, boasting successes in competitive riding. This Thoroughbred family has undoubtedly proven itself at the very highest level in eventing. There have also been offspring in show jumping when the stallions were bred to warmblood mares. At a meeting in Elmshorn to discuss the stallion’s potential approval, officials from the Trakehner Association also recognised his great potential and approved him for breeding. Elmar Lesch, an internationally successful eventing rider and trainer, was a member of the commission and was impressed by the Thoroughbred: “It is not only Holsteiner and Trakehner breeding that can benefit from a stallion like Innenminister xx. He possesses striking features, has good shoulder and chest depth, as well as beautiful lines. During free walking, he consistently displayed a regular rhythm and, for a Thoroughbred, very good natural drive. During free jumping, he impressed with good bascule and excellent foreleg technique,” said the Master of Equine Management. “He completed every task with a certain ease. Furthermore, he is strikingly handsome, with large eyes, and possesses the necessary fundamental conformation for a stud stallion. I happen to know his dam, who is also a horse with great presence and remarkable charisma, and I am all the more excited to see how this stallion’s traits will be passed on.”
