Following their spectacular victory in the Grand Prix of Neumünster (GER) and a bronze medal in the Gothenburg Trophy (SWE) earlier this year, the association-owned stallion Zuccero and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE) have successfully kicked off the spring season.
The son of Zirocco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), line 4539, and his rider first competed in Ehlersdorf, Schleswig-Holstein, as part of their preparations, where they finished third in a 1.45-metre class with a jump-off. At Horses&Dreams in Hagen am Teutoburger Wald, they secured sixth place in a challenging 1.55-metre course featuring two rounds. “The great thing is that he also jumps very well on large arenas,” said Bengtsson in February when asked about their numerous successes during the indoor season. “He proved that impressively last year at Spruce Meadows.” There, the pair were placed twice in classes up to 1.60 metres at the historic competition.
