Arne van Heel and Lucas Wenz took part in the short aptitude test in Vechta with five stallions. These were the licensed four-year-old stallions Cascolero by Casall, Crinch by Clarimo, Kantato by Keaton, United Pleasure by United Way, and Uricas II by Uriko, owned by Hengsthaltungs GmbH.
Arne van Heel and the Keaton son Kantato (MV Casall, Manfred Birchler, Bilten), line 104A, achieved a clearly excellent result – and, at the same time, the second-best of the entire round: He received a weighted final mark of 8.63, with a particular emphasis on jumping. The individual mark of 8.8 was awarded no fewer than three times – for his jumping ability, rideability and willingness to perform. Arne van Heel skilfully showcased the four-year-old. “The stallion showed himself at his very best here,” was the judges’ comment. “He already impressed during the free jumping with his awareness over the jump, and under the rider he also shone with his jumping ability and rideability,” they said.
With a weighted final mark of 8.30, emphasising his jumping ability, United Pleasure by United Way-For Pleasure (Rita Siebke Baasch, Sarzbüttel), line 2067, finished his performance under Lucas Wenz. “A show jumper,” was the assessment of the judging panel, which awarded United Pleasure a 9.0 for willingness to perform and an 8.8 for jumping ability. The talented grey particularly stood out during the free jumping: “A stallion endowed with an incredible amount of ability. Despite his plenty of drive, he still maintains good awareness over the jump – this will certainly stand him in good stead.”
8.26 was the weighted, jumping-focused final score for the Casall son Cascolero (sire: Cornet Obolensky, Günther Fielmann, Schierensee), line 7126. The dark bay’s canter and willingness to perform earned him an 8.5 from the judges. He received an 8.4 for his jumping ability. “We were already impressed by his awareness during the free jumping session, and he also performs his tasks very confidently under the rider,” explained the judges, who also praised his training under Arne van Heel.
Crinch by Clarimo-Connor (Miriam Kühl, Broderstorf), line 776, received a weighted final mark of 8.17, with an emphasis on jumping. Lucas Wenz rode the grey, who, according to the judges, “was incredibly fresh during the free jumping and demonstrated the talent he possesses – it was truly sensational.” With good prospects for the future subject to further training, the judges awarded an 8.5 for both jumping ability and willingness to perform. His “powerful, generous” canter earned an 8.6.
With a weighted final mark of 7.92, with an emphasis on jumping, Uricas II by Uriko-Cassini I (Otto Boje Schoof, Hedwigenkoog), line 1916, completed the short aptitude test with Arne van Heel in the saddle. The judges highlighted his rideability with a score of 8.3.
