Last weekend, the association’s stallions Million Dollar and Caracho competed in Oliva (ESP) with Sophie Hinners, whilst Catch and Zuccero also enjoyed success in Herning (DEN) with Rolf-Göran Bengtsson.

Caracho (Jens Ritters, Krumstedt), a son of Cassilano and Quick Star, line 730B, competed in three 1.40-metre classes, remained clear of faults in all of them and finished eleventh and fourth. His stablemate Million Dollar by Plot Blue also competed under the Spanish sun and achieved two placings at 1.45 metres. “Sophie Hinners used the weekend for some relaxed training rounds with the two stallions,” explained Managing Director Norbert Boley. “The plan worked out; Million Dollar only had a minor fault in the Grand Prix.”

In Herning, Denmark, Rolf-Göran Bengtsson rode the stallions Catch by Colman-Calido I (Hans-Peter Löding-Hasenkamp, Quarnstedt), line 890, and Zuccero by Zirocco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), line 4539, in front of a huge crowd: as coronavirus restrictions had been lifted in Denmark, the arena was packed with up to 80,000 people over the four days. Catch was unfazed by the crowd and finished second twice at the 1.40-metre level. And Zuccero finished fifth in a 1.50-metre jump-off on the Friday of the event, before going on to take an excellent third place in the 1.50-metre Grand Prix the following day. “That’s a fantastic result,” says a delighted Norbert Boley. “Rolf Bengtsson deliberately didn’t take the full risk in the jump-off, and yet the pair were rewarded with this result. This bodes well for the upcoming outdoor season.”
