The association’s stallions and their offspring shine in Warendorf

Five Holsteiner Association stallions competed at the National Championships in Warendorf and, with Arne van Heel and Lucas Wenz in the saddle, secured some excellent placings; all of them qualified for the final in their respective age groups.

Leading the way was Keaton HV by Kannan-Contendro I (Rudolf Schmitt, Wöhrden), line 4847, who won the Warendorf Grand Prix with Arne van Heel. The stallion and his rider were celebrated by the Warendorf crowd after a flawless round and a lightning-fast jump-off. They had already finished eighth in the qualifiers with a clear round.

This competition, for eight-year-old and older horses that had already competed at least once at the National Championships, also featured Charaktervoll HV by Comme il faut-Contendro I (Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld), line 474A, and Lucas Wenz. In the qualifiers, the pair secured an excellent third place, and in the Grand Prix they finished 14th.

The seven-year-old Vigado by Vigo d’Arsouilles–Quo Vados I (Witt Pferdezucht GbR, Wellinghusen), line 776, and Lucas Wenz took second place in the second qualifier in this class.

Union City by United Way–Connor (Alf Bartholomäus, Klein Offenseth), line 18A2, ridden by Lucas Wenz, and Deichkind by Don-Limbus (Rasmus Lüneburg, Hetlingen), line 8763, ridden by Arne van Heel, competed in the five-year-olds’ class. Union City finished eighth in the first round (8.4), tenth (8.4) and eleventh in the final (8.6). Deichkind finished tenth (8.3), fourth (8.8) and finally eleventh in the final (8.6).

Offspring of association stallions…

…stood out during the National Championships: for example, the Million Dollar son Mini Million (MV. Bloubet du Rouet), bred by Jörg Kröger, who won the National Championship for six-year-old show jumpers with Pia-Luise Baur. Also highly placed in the qualifiers was the Million Dollar-Centurion daughter Madara (Michael Rump) with Lina Renström. She finished fifth (8.5) and third (8.6) in the qualifiers, and placed 14th in the final. After the Million Dollar-Colman son MacGyver (Manfred Nissen) secured a placing in both qualifying rounds for the seven-year-olds with Björn Behrend, he repeated the feat in the final, finishing tenth.

The Uriko son Ubiko (MV. Quality), registered in Oldenburg, enjoyed great success with Pia-Luise Baur in the six-year-olds’ class: scores of 8.7 (third place) in round one and 8.8 in the second qualifier (second place) secured his place in the final.

Umberto HCS (Helene Catharina Schulz), by United Way-Canto, was successfully ridden by Teike Friedrichsen in the five-year-olds’ class. With a score of 8.7 in the first qualifier, he secured an excellent fourth place. Uno by United Way-Centurion (Jan Kai Hansen), a three-quarter brother to Sophie Hinner’s young horse Iron Dames Uriel by Uriko, stood out in the eventing category: Lotte Palmgren presented Uno in Warendorf and completed the cross-country section with a score of 8.5, securing eighth place in the National Championships for five-year-olds.
